The charter travel organizers are laughing all the way to the bank; close to half of all available seats for summer are already sold. The leading companies are now expanding their offering.

"We are adding 18,000 seats for this summer", information officer Peter Hellström at Fritidsresor told the TT news agency.

A contributing factor to the booming sales is the stronger Swedish currency.

Another trend for this year is the increasing popularity of all-inclusive packages. All-inclusive sales have doubled compared to last year, and for one of the leading companies, Fritidsresor, it now makes up 15 to 20 percent of all travel packages sold.

The most popular summer destination is Turkey, but the Swedes are already planning their escapes for next winter, where Egypt is in the lead.

"Bookings for next winter are up 53 percent", Ving communications manager Magdalena Öhrn told TT.

Also the travel agency Resia said it has reached record levels as the demand for the summer and spring travels is booming.
