The Economic Tendency Indicator, which measures business and consumer confidence in the economic situation, rose nearly four points between January and February this year, according to the National Institute of Economic Research.
The indicator has risen for ten consecutive months and is currently at a level signalling stronger than normal business and consumer sentiment, the institute said in its report.
All sectors, except the retail trade, made a positive contribution to this rise.
The Consumer confidence indicator (CCI) rose 4.5 points between January and February and is currently at its highest level since October 2007. It is considerably above the historic average, indicating that households are more optimistic than normal.
