Beer shortage hits Denmark after Carlsberg strike
COPENHAGEN (AFP) - Denmark has been hit with a shortage of its Carlsberg beer after more than half of the company's workers in the country went on strike Friday, suspending deliveries.

Some 1,100 workers out of a total of 2,000 in Denmark walked off the job, and stores in the country's west were already experiencing shortages, a company spokesman said. Deliveries throughout the country were suspended.
"In the stores, the first stock shortages of our beer and our carbonated beverages have already begun in Jutland (the western part of Denmark)," said Jens Bekke. "For the rest of the country, it could begin in less than a week."
The company, the world's fourth largest brewer, produces Denmark's two main beers, Carlsberg and Tuborg.
Employees are demanding salary increases of between one and 1.5 percent, while the company is seeking to freeze wages this year.

Pay them in free unmarked cases of beer. The employee can then turn around and claim the deposits.
Now it would only be applicable at work locations - reducing employer overhead costs.
