As the global auto industry goes though its toughest times ever, Volvo Cars, based in Sweden and owned by Ford, increased its sale in the US with 24 percent in May compared to April.
A total of 5,577 Volvo cars were sold in the US in May. Even though it’s 23 percent fewer then the same month last year, it’s the lowest monthly decrease this year, according to the TT news wire.
Since the turn of the year 25,230 Volvos have been sold in the US, which is 40 percent fewer than during the same period last year. Year-on-year sale has declined 42.1 percent.
New products helped Ford Motor Company achieve its highest market share in three years, even as the company decreased incentive spending in May, the Ford wrote in a statement.
