The number of passangers traveling from the United States to Europe may dive drastically after the US, Sweden and other countries issued alert warnings of the "possible terrorist attack" by Al-Qaeda.

Flight comparison website Skyscanner said that the warnings will “dent” tourism to Europe as the number of Americans searching for trips to Europe online plummeted radically the last week.

American searches on Sweden dropped 47 percent, France 42 percent, Germany 40 percent and the UK by 35 percent.

However, Scandinavian airline SAS has not yet noticed any decline in the number of passengers, an airline spokesperson told The Swedish Wire Wednesday afternoon.

Germany's interior minister hit out Wednesday at travel warnings for visitors to Europe issued because of the risk of Al-Qaeda attacks, saying such tactics helped "terrorists" spread fear.
