COPENHAGEN (AFP) - The Danish economy grew more than expected in the second quarter, expanding 1.0 percent from the previous three-month period and 2.8 percent from the same period last year.

• Finland hikes outlook for its battered economy
• Norway's economy grows faster than expected
In the first quarter of 2010, Denmark's gross domestic product (GDP) contracted 0.2 percent year-on-year, according to Monday's figures from Statistics Denmark.
The second quarter growth figures easily beat expectations of analysts polled by financial news agency RB-Boersen of a 0.4-percent quarterly hike and a 1.7-percent jump year-on-year.
The April-to-June period thus marked the fourth consecutive quarter of economic growth for Denmark.
