The Nordic region largest bank dumps all BP stock after oil spill.

• BP directors urge Carl-Henric Svanberg to resign

Nordea, the largest lender in the Nordic region, has decided to dump all BP stocks, worth about 10 million euros ($11.94 million), from its funds and suspend further investments in the oil firm.

"The environmental catastrophe in the Mexican Gulf is an extraordinary situation given the size of the spill, weak response from BP, criminal investigation towards the company as well as anticipated risk for other accidents," Nordea said in a statement Monday.

The banks responsible investment committee slammed BP for failing to comply with its own safety and environmental rules and for not disclosing information and not being transparent. No further investments will be made until clarification from the British oil company, with Swedish chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg, on systematic risk management has been evaluated.

In total, some 20 Nordea funds available in the Nordic countries with BP investments are directly affected. According to Reuters the stakes are worth about 10 million euros. BP shares have lost one-third of their value since the environmental crisis started, April 20.

A number of senior BP directors want Carl-Henric Svanberg, who has been the company's chairman since January, sacked. They claim his mishandling of the oil spill disaster has turned a crisis into a catastrophe, the Independent on Sunday wrote.

Svanberg should be sacked - he's letting the CEO take all the blame and a coward's way out by hiding. He doesn't want his name smeared with this mess it seem but he'll take the huge pay packet, while others lose their pensions and jobs and the environment is destroyed.

I think BP should divorce him the same as his wife did with good reason -
He can't be trusted!!!
