Swedish agency boss Christina Lugnet sacked after lavish spending

Sweden’s government announced on Monday that Christina Lugnet, head of the Agency for Economic and Regional Growth (Tillväxtverket) will be relieved of her responsibilities after being slammed for spending millions on expensive internal entertainment, the Local website said.

“The activities that the Agency for Economic and Regional Growth are responsible for are immensely important and for the agency to continue to develop and do a good job it needs a director general who holds the full confidence of Swedish trade and industry, of Sweden’s citizens as well as the government,” said minister for enterprise, Annie Lööf, in a statement.
