With 3.5 million residents, the city of Stockholm is growing and will be a metropolis by 2022. This places demands on infrastructure and housing, and demands for expanded public transportation, eco-friendly solutions and a digital infrastructure with smart services. The city therefore continuously opens up more data sources to give citizens and businesses the opportunity to use them and create new smart services.

Now they have also launch a competition with the purpose to encourage the use of open data, and through this, create new ideas and solutions that are of interest to the citizens, the city of Stockholm and the region for the development of services and mobile applications.

The competition is an opportunity for the participants to share their innovative solutions in the form of apps, web services or project plans for a smarter Stockholm based on open data.

You can chose to participate in one of the following categories: “Best solution for traffic and accessibility”, “Best solution for the environment and sustainability”, or “Best smart solution for the people of Stockholm”.

Three winners will share 100.000 SEK!

How you compete:
1. Register at openstockholmaward.se and fill out your profile information.
1. Chose what category to compete in.
3. Upload your submission according to the criteria no later than April 30, 2014.
