In critical times business matchmaking is more important than ever. Therefore more than 300 representatives from Swedish and American companies and organizations are expected to meet with each other during the annual Swedish-American Entrepreneurial Days, September 14-16 in Southern Sweden.
Organized by the Swedish-American Chambers of Commerce, the City of Växjö and TelecomCity, Entrepreneurial Days 2011 will focus on transatlantic trade, clean tech and telecom/ICT in a joint conference.
This will be the 21st edition of the largest and most important annual event that promotes Swedish–American exchange, trade and investments. Every year it brings together hundreds of participants allowing them to share ideas and listen to a wide range of top-level speakers from industry, trade organizations and government.
"The Entrepreneurial Days is a great opportunity to collect information about the U.S. business and investment climate. It is also a terrific opportunity to meet with lots of other companies with the same aspirations and with all kinds of U.S. related service providers," says Geert Hovens, Authorized Investment Representative, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania European Investment Office.
The backbone of the conference is the matchmaking sessions which are designed to help the participants to find potential partners, distributors, agents, and/or consultants within their field of industry.
"We made many new connections at the conference, gained new knowledge and expanded the base for new business on all fronts,” says Cynthia H. de Lorenzi, Chief Executive Officer, Success in the City, after attending the latest Swedish-American Entrepreneurial Days, in Gothenburg, Sweden 2010.
Among the stellar speakers this year are Elizabeth Heider, Vice President of Skanska Building USA and chair-elect of the U.S. Green Building Council; Carl Benett, Founder and Chairman of the global med-tech company Getinge, and Marita Ljung, State Secretary for Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications, Cabinet Office.
