Swedish PM Reinfeldt separates from wife
Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt and his wife Filippa have separated, according to Swedish news sources. It wasn't immediately clear whether the couple was also planning to divorce.
The separation was announced in a brief email message from the Prime Minister's press department, the TT news agency said.
"I would like to inform you that Fredrik and Filippa Reinfeldt have separated," press spokesperson for Fredrik Reinfeldt, Roberta Alenius wrote.
The news came the day after reports that the family sold their house in the Stockholm suburb Täby.
The couple Reinfeldt married in 1992 and have three children, aged 18, 16 and 11. Both Fredrik and Filippa Reinfeldts have successful political careers.
Former Prime Minister, Göran Persson, got divorced in 2002.
