Sweden's inflation rises to 1.8 percent
• Sweden’s economy booms – GDP up 6.9 percent
The Swedish Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 1.8 percent in November, an increase by 0.3 percent from October to November, the statistics office said Thursday.
Prices were hiked because of higher interest costs for owner occupied housing and for electricity. Higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages also added to the increase.
In transport, petrol prices rose 1.9 percent while prices for international flights dived 22.3 percent, Statitsics Sweden said.
Sweden's economy increased 6.9 percent in the third quarter after recording a revised 4.5 percent growth in the second quarter, the statistics office said last month.
Sweden's central bank raised its benchmark interest rate by 0.25 points to 1.0 percent last month, the third increase since July as the country's economy makes a strong recovery from recession.
