New survey reviles: Swedes tired of surveys
Overkill of surveys may have serious consequences, officials warn.
• Poll: Joining the euro? No thanks • Poll: Sweden's centre-right ahead of red-green rivals • Poll: Swedes getting more positive to immigrants • Pull: Sweden pushes condom use – risky sex common • Poll: More Swedes want to abolish monarchy
A Swedish Radio news survey said Tuesday that Swedes are tired of surveys and questionnaires. Less than 80 percent reply to surveys, which is 10 percent fewer than a decade ago.
The overkill of surveys carried out every week by state institutions, schools, hospitals and business can have serious consequences, Sweden’s state statistics office -- that surveys almost 30,000 people every month -- warned. National official figures, such as unemployment rate, get less reliable when fewer respond.
