Football tickets most expensive in England; Sweden ranks 16th


With football’s first league matches well underway, tickets for the games have proven far from cheap.

Taking top spot for the most expensive country to go to a match is England, according to GoEuro.com, a search engine for comparing flights, coach and rail travel options across Europe. There, Premier League tickets cost an average of $82.60 per ticket.

In Sweden, an average ticket to attend a first league game costs about $26.98, which puts Sweden at the 16th most expensive on this ranking.

The best value leagues to travel to, based on the quality of the league and the cost of the ticket is Germany, followed by Spain, Portugal and finally England. Sweden ranked here #22.
