The head of Stockholm Business Region Development’s clean-tech division, Janey Mehks, has been touring the globe throughout the spring, showcasing Swedish opportunities and Stockholm-based companies.

“The interest from China is growing,” she said. “In March we were in Hong Kong and Shanghai at China-Nordic Cleantech Bridge where Nordic cleantech companies got the opportunity to present to Chinese investors”.

When we spoke, Mehks was in Bilbao, Spain at the yearly Cleantech Forum, , with five Stockholm-based companies: Midsummer, NLAB Solar, Optistring, ATC Industrial Group and Chromafora.

The interest in Swedish clean-tech expertise means there will be plenty more opportunities for Stockholm-based firms to showcase their products to foreign investors.

“As a follow-up to the event in China, we will also be part of Cleantech Venture Day in Malmö in May,” she said.

“We’re also part of the Swedish Cleantech Tour, which are three events that will hit Paris, Munich and Shanghai during the spring. It will give international investors and potential partners unique opportunities to meet some of Stockholm’s most innovative companies.”

She said the companies have been getting an overwhelmingly positive response.

“Interest in our companies and innovations is great. We have many meetings,” she said.

Stockholm Business Region Development collaborates with Business Sweden, Swedish Energy Agency and other regional or industry promoters on many of the events.
