After talks between General Motors and Dutch sports carmaker Spyker in Stockholm Friday a deal just might be within reach.
Even rival bidder Genii Capital, backed by Formula One mogul Bernie Ecclestone, said that Spyker seems to have a good chance to land the deal.
"We believe that Spyker is well-positioned in this deal and I would expect an outcome early next week," Lars Carlström, a spokesman for Luxembourg-based investment firm Genii, told Reuters.
GM considers Spyker’s 500 million dollar offer of cash and preferred shares in the new Saab to be adequate, according to Bloomberg.
A declaration by GM and Spyker could come as early as Monday.
