Swedish security company Securitas said Tuesday it had agreed to acquire 49 percent of Vietnamese security services company Long Hai Security.

Swedish Securitas, one of the largest provider of security services in the world, increases its presence in Southeast Asia as it swallows the market leader in the Vietnamese security services market in a deal worth 35 million kronor (3.4 million euros, 4.9 million dollars).

Long Hai Security has annual sales of 53 million kronor and approximately 2,500 employees. It will be consolidated in Securitas AB as of January 1, 2010.

Swedish Securitas has some 230,000 employees in over 30 countries worldwide.
