'Sharkonomics' makes debut in Japan
• Why a marketing professor met five of the world’s most famous murderers
In a land rich with culture and curiosity, management book Sharkonomics by Swedish marketing thinker Stefan Engeseth is now swimming amongst 127 million readers in Japan.
"It’s humbling and amazing to see Sharkonomics translated into Japanese – a beautiful language – and designed and presented in such a clean-cut way", he wrote on his blog.
"My hope is that it will inspire Japanese business people in both attack and defence.
"Since Japan is such a great country which I have yet to visit, my hope now is to hold lectures about Sharkonomics and meet interesting people there, and experience the uniqueness of this land.
Stefan Engeseth argues that taking market share from market leaders is about being aware, creating presence and punching above your weight. By applying the behavioural traits of the shark, Engeseth has created a number of highly practical business strategies which include striking unpredictably, developing a sensory system, hunting in packs and how to locate blind spots.
