General Motor's CEO to step down

General Motors Co. said its total vehicle sales fell 2 percent in November, weighed down by brands it plans to divest or close such as its Swedish loss-making Saab unit.

Saab only sold 371 cars in the US last month. That’s 56.5 percent fewer than the same month last year when the carmaker sold 852 units. During the year’s first eleven month Saab sold 7.812 cars, 61.3 percent fewer than last year.

GM said on Tuesday said that it will shut down its Saab division if no suitable buyer emerges by the end of the year.

Troubled GM also announced it sold more vehicles in China in November than in its home market of the United States.
