Sweden's GDP decreased by 5.0 percent in the third quarter, in working-day adjusted figures compared to the third quarter of 2008, the statistics office said Friday.

This means that the decline of the economy has came to an halt. Compared with the second quarter the economy increased by 0.2 percent.

Total producers of goods decreased by 14 percent while service sector industries by 2.9 percent. Exports plunged by 12.5 percent and imports by 13 percent.

The decline of the economy was in line with analysts expectations, according to a SME Direkt poll.
