For more than ten years Joachim Posener have been on the run. He’s accused of being the head of a group that raided Swedish investment company Trustor in 1997, resulting in one of the biggest investments scandal in Swedish history.

On Tuesday Joachim Posenerhas was questioned by Swedish police at the Embassy in Brussels, the Expressen newspaper said.

“I don’t think that it would help my client’s interests if I commented on what came out during the interrogation,” Posener’s defence attorney Leif Gustafson told the newspaper, according to the TT newswire.

The interrogation concerned a crime of dishonesty toward creditors connected with an interview with Swedish TV3 in 2004. The broadcaster paid Posener 3.5 million kronro for the interview.

At the time Posener was hunted by the debt collector for unpaid taxes and the money was paid to a separate company holding the rights to his book, resulting in a lawsuit filed by the bankruptcy administrators against both the owners of TV3 and the publisher as the money should have gone to the bankruptcy estate.

The Trustor investment bank was subject to a major fraud and Joachim Posener was suspected of being the brains behind the swindle.  Five year's ago he was ordered by the court to repay 125 million kronor to Trustor. However, any attempts to find out where he was hiding were unsuccessful.

The statute of limitations has now run out. Still, last month Joachim Posener's sidekick Thomas Jisander was sentenced to 1.5 year's behind bars for embezzlements related to the Trustor rip-off.

The scam also involved British businessman Lord Moyne who illegally financed the acquisition of a majority stake in Trustor with the company’s own money. He was later cleared from any wrongdoing.
