New construction opportunities across Sweden
A spate of infrastructure projects being planned by the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) offer large scale opportunities, and construction companies are lining up to compete for contracts.
In the end of October the government body -- responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of all state owned roads and railways -- plan to host a two-day conference for national and international companies.
The organisation's procurement strategist, Camilla Ahston, said that the conference will outline the most important projects and details of what's needed to complete them.
The 25th October event will mainly focus on Swedish contractors, with the following day a special event for international suppliers and contractors with experience of complex tunneling work.
"We'll begin with in-depth information about each project and then offer an opportunity for one-on-one meetings with the Swedish Transport Administration," Ahston told The Swedish Wire.
The focus of the international event will be on two major projects: the West Link Project and the Stockholm bypass Project.
The West Link Project is a railway tunnel planned to run under the centre of Gothenburg that will connect commuter rail services to routes that penetrate the city and give rise to new stations. More info here.
Stockholm bypass Project – E4 Förbifart Stockholm – is a new motorway linking southern and northern Stockholm resulting in a new route for the European highway (E4) past Stockholm. More info here.
